Cute Tunes
Kirby and the Forgotten Land was already on Nintendo Music, but this week it was updated with 91 tracks, bringing the total for the game to 114 — that's four and a half hours of music. This still doesn't include any music from the Star-Crossed World DLC which came out yesterday, so expect an additional extension to the track list in the future.
Just in time for the Open Network Test
The Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube channel uploaded a second Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds DJ mix by Kanon Oguni. Similar to the first DJ mix, the video showcases gameplay and scenic views of 5 more race tracks from the upcoming title. You can listen to it below.
Kirby rides again
The Kirby Air Riders Direct yesterday revealed a lot of information on the upcoming puffball racer. We also got our first listen to it's soundtrack, including the main theme song "Starlit Journey."
A treaure trove of tunes
Captain Toad journeys onto the Nintendo Music app with the soundtrack of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker for Wii U (and 3DS, and Nintendo Switch). The OST has 58 tracks and 2 playlists to enjoy. The full track list is below.
Crossfading CrossWorlds
The official Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube channel continues to build up for the release of the upcoming Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds with another video showcasing the game's music. Instead of just one track, we got a 6-song DJ mix created by Tomoya Ohtani! Have a listen below.
Music spanning 20 years
Have you been daydreaming about flying airplanes and parachuting? Then listening to some tunes from Pilotwings can help turn those dreams into... well, more-immersive dreams. Luckily, Nintendo has added the entire flight sim series to their music app: Pilotwings (SNES), Pilotwings 64 (Nintendo 64) and Pilotwings Resort (3DS).
Sounds spot-on!
I recently stumbled upon a YouTuber and musician by the name of Nuclear [NUKELEDGE], who creates videos related to video game music, composition, and audio production. One of Nuclear's recent uploads goes over replicating the guitar part from the Sonic Adventure 2 song "Advertise: SA2 ...in the groove" (the story select track) from scratch. I was blown away by the accuracy and technical process of this recreation, from the ability to make a MIDI electric guitar sound real, to the subtle effects of fret mutes and vox chords. This was all made within the audio production software FL Studio. Check out the process in the video below.
Composer: You!
Coinciding with its release on the SNES - Nintendo Classics app for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, Mario Paint comes to the Nintendo Music app with 19 tracks, including one of the earliest known versions of "Totaka's Song". The soundtrack has a runtime of 28 minutes.
A bundle of retro goodies
After a long stretch of slowly adding one game at a time, Nintendo has brought 20 NES/Famicom games to their music streaming app, all at once! These include the ports of the arcade Donkey Kong series, sports titles, some originally Japan-only games, and more. A few even have extended playlists. That's over 222 songs, though many are short jingles.
Welcome to Mario Kart!
While Switch 2 early adopters are racing around in Mario Kart World, why not enjoy this throwback with the Mario Kart 64 soundtrack on the Nintendo Music app"? You get a whole hour of music across 32 tracks (but only one playlist: the Extended-Playback Collection).
