Kirby rides again
The Kirby Air Riders Direct yesterday revealed a lot of information on the upcoming puffball racer. We also got our first listen to it's soundtrack, including the main theme song "Starlit Journey."
A calendar entry was added to Nintendo Today calendar ahead of the Direct on August 19, revealing that Kirby Air Riders music would be coming to the Nintendo Music app as a "special release." Nintendo removed the entry but the live stream confirmed this, marking the first time the Nintendo Music app featured music from an unreleased game.
The "Special Release: Kirby Air Riders" on Nintendo Music has the following songs:
Two are the main theme song with Japanese and English vocals, four are from race tracks showcased in the Direct, and the last is an instrumental reprise of "Starlit Journey." This is the third Kirby game to have music with lyrics, following Super Kirby Clash and Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
Curiously, Kirby Air Riders is still not listed as a game in the Nintendo Music app, and Nintendo Switch 2 is not shown as a platform — this "special release" is just a playlist. This means it does not show on the main search page "all games" list. Instead, you access the playlist either from the home page or searching for "Kirby Air Riders" which will show the playlist as a result.
Kirby Air Riders releases for Nintendo Switch 2 on November 20, 2025.
The Nintendo Music app is available on iOS and Android. You'll need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription in order to use it.
